Did you know that loofahs are grown on trees?!

They come from warm and dry regions such as India or the Middle East and have been used in bathrooms and kitchens for centuries.
Loofahs can help to polish skin effectively by removing the top layer of dead skin leaving you feeling smooth.
Try using these soaps on problem areas such as hips and thighs to boost circulation as well as improving skin circulation.

We have introduced two fragrances of loofah soap.

Lime and Thyme (my personal favourite!) and Raspberry Rub.

The Lime is very invigorating and just what you need to get your mind and circulation going in the morning.

The raspberry is bursting with fruity fragrance and leaved your skin feeling smooth.

These long lasting soaps can be bought on their own for a mere £1.90 or they can be bought in the essential aromas gift bag.

Aromatherapy uses the essential oils from plants to benefit our wellbeing. Certain oils have properties which can help us to relax, reduce anxiety, give us more energy as well as helping with more specific ailments.

Based on the most popular selling essential oils we have introduced a range of essential aroma soaps to the website.

Lavender - has a calming effect which can help with relaxation and reducing stress and anxiety. It helps the mind to wind down particularly at the end of a long day which is why lavender oil is widely used as a sleep aid.

This soap can be used in the bath to help relax your body and mind and bring about a restful nights sleep.

Tea Tree - This has antiseptic properties which are well used in topical skin treatments. The tea tree oil we have introduced has the moisturising benefits of glycerin soap along with the antibacterial and antiseptic properties from the oil. It helps to keep skin fresh and blemish free.

Ylang Ylang and Patchouli - Ylang Ylang helps to reduce high blood pressure, moisturise and stabilise skin problems. It is also a well known aphrodisiac, infact it is used widely in perfumes such as chanel No 5.

Patchouli is also used to aid relaxation in addition to helping with a variety of ailments such as headaches and colds.

Moonstone Soap - Confirmed Events

Moonstone Soap have some new confirmed events for you diaries:-

14th November 2009, Christmas Craft Fair, Birstall Village Hall, Birstall. 10.30am-4pm.

21st and 22nd November 2009, Desford Craft Fair, Desford Leicestershire 10am-4pm.

As usual we'll be stocking our regular products, handmade soap, bath bomb, gift boxes, etc. and also some festive additions in preparation for Christmas.

We love to meet our customers in person and last year these events were fantastic so we would reccommend coming along to see whats on offer.

During the coming months we'll be adding more craft events to our calender so don't forget to check out the Moonstone Soap website .

Moonstone Soap are attending a craft fair this weekend, 14th June 2009, at the Sports Centre in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.

The benefit of Handmade Soap

Our handmade soap slices are made from glycerin soap. Glycerin acts as a long lasting moisturiser and is extremely beneficial for your skin.

It is also known to relieve symptoms of eczema and psoriasis, making our handmade soap perfect for sensitive skins.

The majority of commercial soaps made today have the glycerine removed from them as it valuable and can be sold on to make adhesives, drinks, pastes, etc. This leaves you with a petroleum by-products which is in fact detergent: this can have a harsh effect on skin causing it to dry.
